Make Things That Matter

Who We Are

Our mission is to Make Things That Matter. We value being honest, inclusive, open, mindful and being a team.

Tess Flynn

Tess Flynn

DevOps Engineer

Tess is TEN7’s Swiss Army knife. She’s an ever-present force in Drupal and a frequent speaker at events, where she's known for comic book-style illustrations in her presentations. Her superpower is problem-solving—she’s always finding ways to improve a site’s infrastructure and efficiency, and she has the rare ability to look holistically at a situation through human requirements, not just those of technology and business. She also loves sleuthing out the source of hacks, especially the ugly and ingenious ones. Tess has encyclopedic knowledge of horror/sci-fi ranging from schlocky and campy to highbrow. She loves Star Trek, where the engineers use their skills to help people.

Jonathan Freed

Jonathan Freed

Media

TEN7's podcast producer and media manager, Jonathan cares deeply about TEN7's message to the world. He works tirelessly behind the scenes at TEN7 with a myriad of responsibilities, including podcast production, social media assets, video production, and the website management for these efforts. He is an engaged activist, a devoted father and is as likely to go off on a political rant as to tell you a dad joke.

Jason Cote

Jason Cote

Front-end Drupal Developer

Jason loves finding innovative solutions to the complicated front-end programming issues we throw at him. He’s that laid-back dude who listens quietly but then spits out a zinger when you’re not expecting it. Jason loves tacos, coffee, biking, camping, and thinks eating weird chip flavors is one of the best things about foreign travel (mustard and pickle potato chips FTW!).

Ivan Stegic

Ivan Stegic

CEO

Words that describe Ivan: Relentlessly optimistic. Kind. Equally concerned with client and employee happiness. Physicist. Ethical. Lighthearted and cheerful. Finds joy in the technical stuff. Inspiring. Loyal. Hires smart, curious and kind employees who want to create more good in the world.

Derek Wright

Derek Wright

Senior Drupal Developer

Derek has been a prolific contributor to Drupal since 2006. He has contributed countless bug fixes and added new features to the core system and many other projects, and helps maintain the collaboration tools for the community on Drupal.org. Derek loves finding elegant solutions to complex problems. A musician and a community activist, he seeks understanding, compassion and social change. All power to the people!

Dani Adelman

Dani Adelman

Director of Operations

Dani has enjoyed making other people's lives easier and happier for decades. And that's why being our Director of Operations suits her perfectly. Her unique background in the realms of publishing (as a writer/editor) and creative agencies (as a multi-media producer) help her keep an eye on clients' greater vision while also being able to coordinate details and keep "the trains running on time." When she's not reviewing budgets and timelines, she's probably either meditating or at the movies. Or both.

Chris Dart

Chris Dart

Drupal Developer

Chris came to TEN7 from the world of nonprofits where he was a jack-of-all-trades, self-taught tech guy. He delights in troubleshooting and finding robust solutions to interesting problems. He’s a curious, even-keeled fellow who loves to challenge himself with new technologies. Chris is passionate about good design, believing that it enables users to do the right thing. He loves ensuring that our clients feel cared for, and he’s endlessly patient at explaining the intricacies of Drupal to non-technical folks. Chris has a background in the fields of ethnography, linguistics and anthropology, which he balances out with barbershop singing and woodworking.

Alexis Vasquez

Alexis Vasquez

Director of Development

Lex is a full-stack developer and TEN7's dispenser of unvarnished truth (when asked). Lex does strategic back-end work, anticipating our clients’ needs and giving them more than they’ve asked for. His combination of dry humor and calm demeanor makes him popular with clients and coworkers alike. Lex’s side gigs include DJing, producing music and mixing some mad beats, including our podcast music.

Be Honest

We speak as candidly, openly, and honestly as possible. We endeavor to be empathetic and connect with those around us. By speaking plainly, we can encourage clear and honest communication. We aspire to start from a position of trust, rather than fear; humility, rather than arrogance; and respect, rather than wariness.

Be Inclusive

We recognize that our collective differences make us stronger. Our openness and diversity of ideas and backgrounds allows us to think more widely, cover more ground, and provide stronger solutions that matter to a larger audience. We hope to remain open minded, collecting diverse ideas and perspectives before synthesizing, editing, adapting, and focusing our ideas. More importantly, we seek our common humanity, which allows us to connect and collaborate together.

Be Open

By working in the light, we tend to write better code, create better business practices, and be more equitable with one another. Thus, openness and transparency make us stronger and provide patterns and solutions that others can build on. We choose to be open by default. We opt for transparency. Sharing is an act of gratitude and tends to perpetuate that act. Open is inclusive. Open encourages trust. Open is good.

Be Mindful

Choose to be present, curious, and vulnerable. We want to create a culture where it is safe to be vulnerable, and admit your difficulties, differences, and confusion so that we may learn from one another and become better together. Choose to listen. Try to hear others’ perspectives and ideas. It is easy to close ourselves off from one another, but we want everyone to have a voice. We need to hear one another and stay present with our ideas. Ideas are important. Intention is important. Your voice is important.

Be a Team

We recognize that our collective effort is more than just the sum of its parts. By sharing our ideas, learning from one another, and supporting one another, we become stronger both individually and collectively. By opting for trust first, we try not to create an “us” and “them” atmosphere. By opting for openness first, we want to encourage collaboration in all things. It is our goal to empower not only our clients, but each other as well – so that we can be the best we can be and take pride in creating amazing work for our clients.
